Operation: Shoot To Thrill Part 8 (Iron Man Mk. 6 build)

New update! let's dive in with some assembly! this part is probably gonna be the most complicated build in the entire project. the boots. I'm making everything, the treads, the detail, the functioning bits, out of foam. i started with the most complicated part, the treads. i broke out the heat knife and started cutting channels:

once the channels were cut in the tread, the heel part had to be assembled:

now to add the treads:

now to start building up:

with the heel lookin snazzy, it was time to build the rest of the foot, minus the "toe" treads, which are a separate piece:

now to attach the heel tread to the rest of the foot:

and, for the last piece, the toe tread:

came out a bit crooked, but a little blast from the heat gun fixed that:

aaand finished!

some little details need to be added, like the circles on the sides, and shoving some normal shoes inside

and with that exhausting bit done, we're on the home stretch on building. next update we'll be doing the shins.
