ANIMU GUN GIRL SHIELD THING (Homura shield) [PART 3] FINALE!

Alright! Part 3!
Like I mentioned previously, next up is final detailing, sealing, and painting.
Let's get started, shall we?
Final gluing of everything came first, then detailing, which just consisted of rounding edges and adding tiny details:

And with that, the building process is done! Since it is foam, I had to seal it. However the shield needs to be smooth, so flex seal is a no-go. Thanks to the botched iron man build, however, i have a different way of sealing that leaves a smooth finish:

PVA GLUE!
(shout out to the RT podcast in the background, the cockbites that keep me going when things get boring)

It's super simple, I just gotta paint it on, let it dry, sand it, and repeat.
LAYER 1:

There was a layer 2 as well, but apparently i didn't get any pictures of it
Derp

LAYER 3:

and then no pictures of the sanding either...
fuh!

Now, on to painting!
You know the drill: primer, base layer, detail layer.

Stencil for the gold orb things:

ah shit.

Turns out the nozzle was clogged. Thankfully, this brand has removable nozzles, so i was able to swap it out
SAFETY PSA: When putting a new nozzle on, BE SURE TO POINT IT AWAY FROM YOUR FACE! It WILL spray you, and it WILL NOT taste good. DON'T BE A DUMMY LIKE MISTER CHIEF!

Anyway, back to the painting:

After a little drying time:

and... FLIP

REALLY MISTER CHIEF!?! FIRST RULE OF PAINTING, AND YOU BROKE IT!!

Is okhey, I feex

Sweet! priming done! Now comes the base layer, silver:

really?

same thing as the primer, only this one was BOUGHT 40 MINUTES AGO! Thankfully I had one left over in the garage that actually worked, so no harm done:

SERIOUSLY?!? AGAIN??!?! CAN YOU REALLY NOT CONTROL YOURSELF?!?

Didn't really matter though, because next up came the gold detailing:

Painting: finished!

Unfortunately my phone died at this point, and i had to get it done since i was delivering it the next day, so i ended up finishing it without any pictures. You're only missing out on some fine-detail painting, attaching the strap, and other boring stuff.

But, IT'S FINISHED AND DELIVERED!
And i even got a picture of the happy customer!

And the shield made its debut in full costume at Fanimecon last week:

Another successful project! done!
Stay tuned!
